How to use this tool
Different objects need different naming patterns. Character names use original syllable banks; places, groups and objects use compositional word banks.
Step by step
- Choose a character, town, kingdom, guild or item, then set the style and length.
- Use Instant for immediate ideas or AI custom for a detailed world and character brief.
- Keep your favorite names and regenerate the remaining slots, then copy or export the batch.
What the options change
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Type and ancestry | Ancestry and gender tendency apply to characters. Towns, kingdoms, guilds and items use their own noun patterns. |
| Length | Short is 4–8 characters, medium 9–14 and long 15–24. Spaces and affixes count toward the limit. |
| Instant / AI | Instant generates 1–100 names locally. AI returns a batch of 8, including any kept names. |
| Kept names | Kept names survive regeneration. Changed options apply to the newly generated slots; unlock old names to replace them. |
Data and limits
The tool uses original rules rather than copying a franchise name list. AI requests have a 30-second overall budget and at most two model attempts. If customization fails, a clearly labeled rule-based fallback is used. Results are not checked for trademark or character-name availability.
FAQ
4 questions people ask most. Anything else, write to [email protected]
Can I generate fantasy names with meanings?
AI custom mode adds a creative interpretation, pronunciation suggestion and usage context. These are invented naming ideas, not claims of authentic linguistic origin.
Can I name towns and guilds as well as characters?
Yes. Choose character, town, kingdom, guild or item. Character options additionally include human, elf, dwarf, orc and dragon naming styles.
How do I keep a name while generating more?
Use Keep this name under a result. The next batch preserves it and replaces only the other slots.
What happens if AI generation fails?
The tool uses same-type rule-based generation and displays a fallback notice. The free-text brief may not be reflected in those names.
