    FAQ

5 questions people ask most. Anything else, write to [email protected]

What is a random group generator?

It shuffles your entire participant list and divides it into teams. Unlike a name picker that draws winners, every entry gets one place.

    Does it keep groups even?

Yes. Group sizes differ by at most one. For 10 people with a maximum of 4 per group, it creates 3 groups of 4, 3 and 3.

Can teachers use this for classroom groups?

Yes. Paste student names and choose the group count. Matching names remain separate; add initials to distinguish students.

Is it free, and do I need an account?

It is free and works without an account. Names and assignments are processed in this page and are not saved or sent to our server.

    How are teams randomized?

The tool uses your browser’s cryptographic random source to shuffle without replacement. Generate again to reshuffle; skill balancing and fixed seeds are not supported.
