    How to use this tool

This tool samples dictionary entries. It does not ask an AI to invent words. Use five random words as a short writing challenge, or switch to the drawing preset for a visual game.

    Step by step

    1. Choose everyday vocabulary, writing inspiration or Pictionary.
    2. Set word type, starting and ending letters, length and optional syllable count.
    3. Generate, expand English definitions and copy or export the complete list.

    What the options change

    OptionWhat it does
Part of speechWords may have more than one part of speech. A noun filter keeps entries that have a noun sense.
Length and affixesLetter counts and English starting or ending letters filter the candidate pool before any draw.
SyllablesCMU pronunciation entries may provide several syllable counts; a word matches when any recorded pronunciation fits.
Repetition and sortingWithout repeats, each word appears once per batch. A–Z and Z–A change presentation after sampling.

    Data and limits

The versioned pool contains over 14,000 English entries, with a roughly 5,000-entry everyday pool and more than 300 drawable words. WordNet glosses may describe one sense of a word. Empty or undersized candidate pools are reported rather than silently relaxing filters.

    FAQ

4 questions people ask most. Anything else, write to [email protected]

Are these real words or invented words?

They are English dictionary entries from WordNet. The tool samples the selected pool locally and does not invent spellings.

Can I generate nouns or words for Pictionary?

Yes. Select a part of speech, or choose the Pictionary preset to use an independently reviewed list of drawable words.

Why can the same word have different syllable counts?

Some English words have multiple pronunciations. The tool uses recorded CMUdict syllable variants and matches any variant that fits your filter.

Why are there no results for my filters?

The intersection of your filters may be empty or smaller than the requested unique batch. Reduce the count, remove an affix or relax the length or syllable filter.
